The Meritus believe in a the ability of any individual to be able to prove themselves through their service. Whereas at first glance the hierarchical structure seems feudal, favour is granted to those who can show initiative and talent when it is needed most.

This means that they have almost no use for deistones allowing them to form better relationships with the Diogeni than the Sortis and the Divitiae.
